Betty read us the first half of The Quiltmaker’s Gift by Jeff Brumbeau and Gail De Marcken. She encouraged us to read the second part of the book and check out other books from our library.
The Quiltmaker’s Gift tells the story of a greedy king, who with the help of a generous quiltmaker, learns to find happiness by giving his possessions away.
This is the winner of our first ugly quilt contest. We had eight quilts entered and members had the opportunity to vote on the one they felt was the ugliest.
To close the meeting was “Sew and Tell”. Here are just of few of the beautiful quilts.
Our next meeting is January 10th and our program will be Dawn’s Quilt Shop. Dawn’s Quilt Shop is located in historic downtown Alexandria, MN. They specialize in Novelty Fabrics, great Quilt Kits and Quilt Patterns designed by Dawn and many other talented designers. To check out her web site click here.
